The Seaward Halo Hook is designed specifically to measure current flow in overhead line systems of up to 33KV. It has a measuring range of up to 2000 Amps, with an accuracy of within 3 digits (5%). The sensing unit is encased in moulded plastic, and feeds a circuit through solid state devices in a fibreglass tube.

The Seaward HALO Ammeter can be simply hooked over the conductor using operator rods. Then, after 5 seconds, the reading will be stored and the unit can be brought back to ground level in order for the operator to store the result. There is an automatic latch-in at the highest monitored current over any given time. There is a sensor unit gap which is sufficient to accommodate up to 50mm conductors.

The Halo Hook could not be easier to use; it is straightforward to handle with simple membrane switches,  and the 3” digit LCD digital display gives readouts that are incredibly easy to view, and also allows users to monitor the condition of the battery.

Manufactured under licence from the Electricity Council, the Halo Hook is internally screened against the effects of electrostatic fields and is fully capable of RMS measurements. It is supplied with a carry case as standard, making it easily portable and storable.
