Bacharach’s advanced MGS-550 Gas Detector Series can utilize any combination of sensor technologies, including electrochemical, semiconductor (MOS), catalytic bead or infrared, in a single platform for unparalleled detection capability. The MGS-550 can easily be connected to any central control system using the current and volt analog output or the Modbus RTU interface. With three user assignable relays, it can also function as a stand-alone unit without the need to wire alarm devices back to a central system.
The straightforward menu structure is identical throughout the platform reducing the amount of training required for installing and maintaining this product family. At any point in time, the instrument can be upgraded from a one sensor to a two sensor system by simply registering another sensor. The MGS-550 is furnished with two analog outputs which can be assigned as redundant for one or for transmit the signal of two sensors.
With more than a century of gas detection design expertise, Bacharach offers its new MGS-550, a flexible-platform instrument that is easily customized for a wide variety of challenging applications. The MGS-550 is user-configurable and capable of utilizing electrochemical, semiconductor, catalytic bead and infrared sensors to detect an extensive range of refrigerants, combustible and toxic gases, as well as VOCs in industrial, commercial and institutional environments. Enclosure options include a rugged, explosion-proof aluminum housing or a dust/waterproof IP66 ABS for durable performance in any location.
The MGS-550 can be connected to any central BMS control system (via Modbus connection) or, with its three onboard user-assignable relays, can easily function as a stand-alone unit without the need to wire alarm devices back to a central system. Providing the ultimate in flexibility, the instrument can be upgraded at any time from a one-sensor unit to a two-sensor system by simply installing another sensor. Both analog interfaces can be assigned as either redundant or specific for each of the sensors. The simple, single level menu interface throughout the MGS-550 platform significantly reduces the amount of training required for maintenance and installation.
