Fluke 434-II Power Quality Analyser - Basic Model Details

Upgraded to offer even more detailed power quality measurements than ever before, the Series II 434 is an extremely reliable testing device that can be used to accurately determine overall power quality on electrical systems and allows the user to take steps to improve overall system efficiency.

One of the most significant upgrades in the Series II 434 is the introduction of an energy loss calculator which will generate a financial figure based on power quality readings to determine how much loss is being made because of poor power quality. This helps users to easily understand at a glance how power quality affects a system's running costs and preventative steps can be taken to improve on these values.

The tester features a large-size LCD screen which is presented in full colour. This allows documenting of all available measurement functions, creation of comprehensive tracking graphs and provides easy access to stored measurements and all functions. Using the tester is also made to be as simple as possible with a push-button interface and rugged, durable casing for use out in the field.

Standard measurements that the Fluke 434-II can perform are voltage, current, frequency, dips and swells calculation, harmonics, power and energy, energy loss, unbalance, monitor and rush. Multiple specific testing modes are available for these measurement types, allowing tracking to be carried out either over a shorter or longer time period and various graphical displays to be generated based upon the mode and testing readings taken.

The 434-II also uses Fluke's unique Unified Power Measurement tool to give a full, comprehensive view of power quality that shows parameters of classic power (Steinmetz 1897) and IEE 1459-2000 power, detailed loss analysis and unbalance analysis. This data is used by the tester to generate a result using the energy loss calculator and allows the user to see exactly how power quality is being lost.

An AutoTrend function built into this tester is designed to make reading continuous readings easy and allows spotting of trends in voltage, current, frequency, power, harmonics or flicker on all three phases plus neutral.

That's not all either - this tester is packed full of functionality, which is further detailed below.

*Please note that the 'Basic' in this product's title refers to the fact that this analyser does not come with current clamps. The standard tester does come with these clamps which allow current measurements to take place.

Fluke 434-II Power Quality Analyser Key Features

  • Comprehensive Energy Loss Calculator - provides extensive information about energy loss parameters and generates a value based on time and the loss of overall power quality to allow the user to determine how much money is potentially being lost on systems with poor power quality
  • Power inverter efficiency - The 434-II can simultaneously measure AC output power and DC input power via the use of an optional DC clamp
  • Detailed analysis of trends - use the zoom and cursor tools to get into specifics with long term measurements
  • Extremely high safety levels - the Fluke 434-I is CAT IV 600V and CAT III 1000V safety rated
  • Measure across all phases - this tester can be used to measure across all three phases, and neutral, via the use of flexible current probes
  • Automatic trending - Captures data automatically without any setup, giving access to comprehensive measurements
