Kern's ORT 1RS is a professional-grade analogue Abbe refractometer suitable for use in evaluating a wide variety of liquid, paste and solid samples.

This refractometer is ideal for studies of sugars, including cane sugar, pharmaceutical samples, beverages, food, chemicals, oil and other samples that may be found in the laboratory. This is a brix/refractive index refractometer and can measure from 0 to 95% (1.3000 to 1.7000nD) with high levels of accuracy.

The Kern ORT 1RS is optimised for use on the bench, with monocular viewer situated at the top for comfortable use and large-size adjustment knobs on the side.

It's also possible for this refractometer to be supplied alongside a digital thermometer unit which plugs directly into the side of the instrument and constantly reads temperature values (see table below for more information on this accessory).
