STI CMCP810S-KIT Runout Kit documents electrical and mechanical

  • Rp0

The CMCP810S-KIT Runout Kit documents electrical and mechanical runout present on a shaft. Surface Irregularities, Electrical Runout, Residual Magnetism, and Residual Stress Concentrations can all contribute to shaft runout which will create erroneous readings for proximity or eddy probe systems.

American Petroleum Institute (API) Standard 670 recommends that "the combined total electrical and mechanical runout does not exceed 25 percent of the maximum allowed peak to peak vibration amplitude or 0.25 mil (6 micrometers), whichever is greater."

The CMCP810S-KIT is the ideal tool to document these irregularities and confirm that the shaft surface is within desired specifications for proximity probes to observe. The stored waveforms can then be zoomed in on for measurement. The 16 Bit Resolution provide <1 mv resolution.

The CMCP810S Sensor Interface Module, included with the kit, is battery powered and provides the -24VDC required for the proximity probe system and +15VDC for the optical phase sensor. Signal output are then provides on BNC connectors which can then be taken into the oscilloscope. An offset adjustment knob on the Sensor Interface Module allows the runout signal to be viewed using a standard oscilloscope. The CMCP810S-KIT includes a USB powered PicoScope oscilloscope.

System Requirements:

Microsoft Windows XP (SP3), Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8 (not Windows RT). USB 2.0 (compatible with USB 1.1 and USB 3.0; USB 1.1 not recommended)
